- Description
The 11th edition of our yearly Swiss Open Cultural Data Hackathon (or GLAMhack for short) will be hosted by the Stiftung für Kunst, Kultur und Geschichte (SKKG) in Winterthur. Under this year’s theme “Hack the Gap – Bridging Analog and Digital Worlds“ we invite cultural heritage professionals, tech enthusiasts, artists, researchers and creative minds to join us and explore how cultural heritage can move fluidly between the physical and digital realms, ensuring broader access, deeper understanding, and more inclusive participation. The main hackathon event will be held from Friday, 13 to Saturday, 14 November. On Thursday, 12 November participants have the chance to add new tools to their toolbox during a workshop afternoon, which will include sessions on datasheets for cultural heritage datasets, how to work with Wikidata or an introduction to PublicAI and Apertus. Thursday evening will be reserved for the GLAMhack opening night, which will showcase successful projects from previous GLAMhacks alongside exciting speakers who are experts in the field.
